Welcome to the PilotAssist Help Document. This guide will help you navigate and make the most out of the features in our app. Here’s a breakdown of each view:

1. Fuel Conversion

Purpose: This view helps you convert between fuel gallons and pounds, specifically for AvGas, which weighs 6 pounds per gallon.

How to Use:

• Input Fuel Gallons: Enter the number of gallons of AvGas you have. The app will display the equivalent weight in pounds.

• Change Your Input with the Segmented Selector: Switch to the “Pounds” option to enter the weight of AvGas in pounds. The app will then display the equivalent volume in gallons.

Included: Helpful fuel information for accurate calculations.

2. Temp Conversion

Purpose: This view allows you to convert temperatures between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

How to Use:

• Input Temperature: Enter the temperature you want to convert.

• Conversion Output: The app will show the temperature in both Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Included: Useful temperature conversion information for aviation needs.

3. Time Conversion

Purpose: This view converts local time to Zulu (UTC) time and vice versa. It features a picker for selecting local times in increments of 10 minutes.

How to Use:

• Local to Zulu: Select a local time from the picker to see the corresponding Zulu time.

Display:

• Current Local Time: Shows the current local time.

• Current Zulu Time: Shows the current Zulu time.

Included: Time conversion information to assist with flight planning.

4. Runway Recip

Purpose: This view helps you find the reciprocal heading of a runway.

How to Use:

• Input Runway Heading: Enter the runway heading to find its reciprocal.

• Reciprocal Heading Output: The app displays the reciprocal heading.

Included: Reciprocal heading information for flight planning.

5. Cross Wind

Purpose: This view calculates the crosswind component for a given runway heading and wind direction.

How to Use:

• Input Runway Heading and Wind Direction: Enter the runway heading, wind direction and wind speed to determine the crosswind component.

• Crosswind Output: The app displays the calculated crosswind component and gives a visual representation of how the wind is flowing relative to your aircrafts approach and landing.

Included: Crosswind component information to aid in runway selection.

6. Flight Briefing

Purpose: This view provides a summary of flight briefing information, including a contact number for 1800wxbrief.

How to Use:

• Contact Information: Find the phone number for 1800wxbrief for weather briefings.

• Briefing Details: View information on what to expect when contacting a briefer.

Included: Essential flight briefing details for pre-flight planning.
